1. OVERVIEW

Endgame does not have its own board; instead, it uses recycled and re-assembled pieces from existing board games (you know, the ones in your basement that are starting to get a little moldy...). The following document describes the modification and assembly of a kit of parts into your very own Endgame board.

2. MATERIALS

1 Parker Brothers Monopoly®® Game board, US (Atlantic City) edition preferred.
Play money from one Monopoly® game set
Houses and Hotels from one Monopoly® game set
1 pair dice
53 white/black disks from one Pressman Othello game
1 set double-six dominoes (except double-zero, zero-one, zero-two, zero-three, zero-four, and zero-five pieces).  Total: 22 dominoes.
20 round toothpicks
1 sheet adhesive green felt
1 physical world map, on durable paper
1 copy of the Endgame Modification Templates on durable or adhesive paper
1 bottle correction fluid
2 bottles matte acrylic model paint, red and grey
1 tube instant glue ("Krazy" glue or similar)
1 bottle paper glue or rubber cement

3. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS : BOARD

3.1 Use the liquid correction fluid to mark out "Streets" and "Avenues" of the Monopoly® board, leaving the state and place names intact.  (For example, "Oriental Avenue" becomes the "Orient"; "Marvin Gardens" becomes "Gardens".)   Also, cover or cut out property color designations.  (Figure 3.1)

3.2 Mark out a grid in the center of the game board by extending the borders of the original play spaces.  (Figure 3.2)

Figure 3.2: Mark out grid on board.

3.3 Indicate each of the 53 squares of the center grid by attaching 1 inch squares cut from the world map, or by simply marking it with a permanent felt-tipped pen. (Figure 3.3)

3.4 Cut out and apply MODIFICATION TEMPLATES to the board. These can be found in the downloadable document endgametemplate.pdf

- The "Free Park" template replaces "Free Parking" on the Monopoly® board.

- The environmental criminal template replaces the existing character in "Jail"

- The additional Jail Rules template is affixed to the "Go To Jail" space.

4. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS : PIECES

4.1 Cut out and apply the skull template to the black side of one of the reversible Othello disks.

4.2 Cut out and apply green felt to the back of each of the 22 dominoes.   (Figure 4.2)

Figure 4.2 : affix a rectangular piece of green felt to blank side of each of the dominoes.

4.3 Using the instant glue, fabricate "factory" pieces from the hotels, houses, and round toothpicks. (Figure 4.3)

Figure 4.3: assemble factories using houses, hotels, and toothpick chimneys.

4.4 When glue has dried, paint an equal number of factories each with the grey and red paints.   Allow to dry.

5. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS : RULES

5.1 Print out the Endgame RULES (endgamerules.pdf) and store them with your completed game.  Refer to these rules for instructions on setup and play.
